Daron McDaniel knows that strong communities are built on opportunity. He’s worked tirelessly to create the conditions for growth improving infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and attracting new employers to Merced County.

Under his leadership, Merced County has forged a groundbreaking agreement with the Port of Los Angeles, positioning the Castle Commerce Center and Inland Port as a key hub for logistics, manufacturing, and goods movement across California. Daron has also championed partnerships with Merced College, UC Merced, and regional workforce programs to connect local residents with new job opportunities.

From expanding Castle to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, Daron McDaniel is helping build a diverse, resilient economy that keeps jobs and families right here in Merced County.

Daron McDaniel believes every resident deserves to feel safe in their home, their neighborhood, and their community. As Supervisor, he’s strengthened partnerships with local law enforcement, fire, and emergency services to ensure they have the resources needed to protect our families.

He’s championed competitive pay for deputies and first responders, supported the expansion of CAL FIRE’s training and operations at Castle, and worked to improve emergency response coordination across Merced County. With public safety representing nearly 80% of the County’s discretionary budget, Daron makes sure every dollar is used effectively keeping our communities secure while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Daron McDaniel has been a consistent advocate for our farmers, ranchers, and agricultural businesses, working to protect the water resources and infrastructure that make local production possible.

With years of experience engaging in regional and statewide water policy discussions, Daron understands that water is not just a commodity it’s the foundation of our community’s future. He’s worked with irrigation districts, the Merced County Farm Bureau, and state and federal partners to defend local control, secure critical funding, and ensure fair representation in water management decisions.

As Supervisor, Daron continues to fight for balanced, practical solutions that protect our agricultural heritage while preparing for the challenges of drought, regulation, and growth. His leadership keeps Merced County’s voice strong in Sacramento and Washington because when it comes to water, our future depends on experience, collaboration, and action.
